Volleyball Drops Final Match of A-State Invitational To Arkansas State

Jonesboro, Ark.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff volleyball team fell to Arkansas State in three sets (15-25, 15-25, 10-25) on the final day of the A-State Invitational hosted by Arkansas State.

"We had a lot of good points, but we just couldn't string them together," said first-year UAPB head coach Chelsey Lucas. "But we're to the point where we understand that we can compete against some of the best teams around."

Sophomore Haley Gomez led the Lady Lions with six kills and one block assist, followed by freshman Zyaire Garrit with four kills and four digs. Sophomore Kaila Robinson collected two kills, one block assist, and four digs. Robinson was also named All-Tournament team for the second time this season.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Friday at 6 p.m. at Tennessee St.
