After nearly a full month of preseason training, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff volleyball team is set to open the 2019 regular season at the UNO Invitational, in New Orleans LA., this Friday and Saturday inside the Human Performance Center on the campus of New Orleans.

The Lady Lions join a field consisting of Louisiana- Monroe, North Dakota, and tournament host New Orleans. UAPB open play against ULM at 1 p.m.  and North Dakota at 5 p.m. on Friday before wrapping up against New Orleans on Saturday at 2 p.m. 

"We're ready to go," first-year head coach Chelsey Lucas said. "We've been working hard and we're looking forward to the tournament. We are going to take it one match at a time. We just need to focus on what we learned in practice and good things will happen."

Coach Lucas will enter the season with a young talented squad and one returner from the 2018 season featuring only one senior. Despite having 12 new faces on the roster, the Lady Lions are looking forward to the Invitational this weekend.  

UAPB will remain on the road following the UNO Invitational, as the Lady Lions travel to Memphis, TN. for a two-day tournament at the Memphis Invitational from Sept. 5-6
