BATON ROUGE, La. — The women's tennis competition at the SWAC Round UP featured a plethora of firsts for the Lady Lions. Most notably, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff captured its first win of the season with a 5-0 triumph over Mississippi Valley.

The Lady Lions needed just five matches to sweep the Lady Devilettes.

UAPB took all of the points in the single competition for the first time this year, putting themselves in a good position.

Graves retired Sydney Newport in straight sets (6-0, 6-0), while Reddy defeated Jailynn May 6-1, 6-0 to clinch the match for UAPB. In the third match K. Fenwick defeated Traci Carter 6-1, 6-1, in the fourth match there was no decision with C. Fenwick and Christy Cotton. In the fifth matchup Jazzalyn Miller suffered a defeat to UAPB's Muhammad 6-0, 6-3 and Strickland followed with a win over Valley's Ambra Stanley.
