UAPB Strong In The Field At Little Rock Open

Little Rock, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's and women's Track and Field team returned to Little Rock over the weekend to participate in the Little Rock Open at Coleman Sports Complex and clinched several top-five finishes in the field events.

On the men's side, the Golden Lions had three student-athletes finished in the top four in the hammer competition.  Miles Dortch claimed the top spot with a range of 48.54m, followed by Gregory King in third with a range of 35.66m and Arius Ofum in fourth with a range of 23.55m.  In the javelin event, Dortch placed fourth with a range of 48.78m. 

On the women's side Safiya John and Keziann Jones finished first and second respectively with a throw of 42.48m, 40.09m, and Cedreahna Kennedy rounds out the top five with a throw of 28.14m. 

In the women's hammer throw the Lady Lions claimed four out the top five slots.  Jones claimed the gold with a distance of 54.52m, followed by Sabrina Hollins in second with a distance of 47.49m, Jasmine Stewart in fourth with a distance of 41.28m and Joelle Stewart in fifth with a distance of 39.65m.
