The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team lost the final game of the series at Incarnate Word 9-3 Sunday at Sullivan Field.

Nick Kreutzer homered for the second straight game and had two hits for the Golden Lions. Jarficur Parker and Sergio Esparza also had two hits each in the contest.

UAPB scored in the first inning for the second straight game. Justin Robinson reached on an infield single to start the game and moved to second on a groundout. With two outs, Sergio Esparza singled through the left side scoring Robinson for a 1-0 lead.

Trailing 5-1 in the sixth, Kreutzer hit a towering home run to straight away center field to bring the Golden Lions to within three at 5-2.

After Incarnate Word added three runs in the sixth and one in the seventh, UAPB added a run in the eighth. Ryan Mallison singled to lead off the inning and moved to second on a groundout. Jarficur Parker then bounced a single up the middle to score Mallison.

The Golden Lions return home Tuesday to host Stephen F. Austin in a 3 p.m. game at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex at Bill Jones Field. Fans can get live stats at uapblionsroar.com or on the UAPB Athletics App.
