BATON ROUGE, La. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team dropped a Friday doubleheader at Southern, losing 17-4 in seven innings and 9-4 in the nightcap.

Game 1 - Southern 17, Golden Lions 4 (7 inn.): Braelin Hence homered and
Bryce Roesch had two RBI in the opener.
With one out in the fourth,
Nick Kreutzer was hit by a pitch, and
Larry Sims singled to left ahead of Roesch's two-run double to left field to get UAPB on the board.
In the fifth,
Justin Robinson doubled to left, advanced to third on a flyout, and scored on an error.
Hence's homer in the top of the seventh completed the Golden Lion scoring.
Game 2- Southern 9, Golden Lions 4: Sims and Robinson each had two hits, with Sims also scoring twice.
In the third,
Jarficur Parker was hit by a pitch with one out, advanced to second on a bunt single by Robinson, and stole third. Parker later scored on a groundout.
In the seventh, Sims singled and advanced to second, stole third, and scored on an RBI groundout by Roesch.
UAPB added two runs in the ninth. Sims doubled with one out ahead of Kreutzer's RBI double down the left field line to score Sims. With two out,
Ricardo Sanchez singled through the right side, scoring Kreutzer.
