CYPRESS, Texas – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's golf team posted a second-place finish in the Prairie View A&M Tournament played at Houston National Golf Club.

The Golden Lions posted a 54-hole total of 924, finishing behind defending SWAC Champion Prairie View A&M (901) and ahead of Texas Southern (932).

Grayson Martin finished tied for third with a score of 233, including a tournament-low tying-round of 69 in the first round, followed by scores of 75 and 79. Joshua McCray finished fifth overall with a total of 226 (72-79-75). Tristan Maharaj improved each round in shooting 233 (81-77-75).

Niklas Frimodig's 242 (80-80-82) and Houston Sowell's 251 (85-82-84) completed the scoring for the Golden Lions.

UAPB will host a pair of events in the upcoming week. Sunday, the Golden Lions will play in the UAPB Shootout against Alabama A&M at 1 p.m. On Monday and Tuesday, UAPB will host the Golden Lions Classic starting at 8 a.m., with both tournaments being played at Harbor Oaks Golf Course.
