Lady Lions Drop Doubleheader to Alabama A&M

Huntsville, Ala. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team dropped a pair of games to Alabama A&M at Lady Bulldogs Stadium 6-4 in game 1 and 10-2 game 2. 

Game 1- Alabama A&M 6 UAPB 4: The Lady Lions went on a rally in the top of the seventh inning after being down 6-0, but came up short scoring four runs on three hits as Alabama A&M took game two in a three-game series.  Desiree Bumpers led the Lady Lions going 1-for-3 with two RBIs, followed by Samanatha Harris going 1-for-3, scoring one run and one RBI.  
 
Game 2 Alabama A&M 10 UAPB 2:  UAPB struck first scoring two runs in the top of the first inning
when Shanice Akins triple to right field and scored off a single by Ann Jones.  Jones would soon score when Alexandria Taylor double to left field. 

Alabama A&M responded scoring eight runs in the bottom of the second and two in the third for the win. 

Ann Jones led UAPB going 2-for-2, with a run and an RBI. 

The Lady Lions will be back Wed. March 20 in a doubleheader, against LSU-Alexandria in Alexandria Louisiana.
