UAPB Fall To Coppin St. In Day Two Of The Central Arkansas Invitational

Conway, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team dropped a 5-1 decision to Coppin St. in day two of the Central Arkansas Invitational.  

Nia Bowe homered to left center to put the Lady Eagles on the board first in the bottom of the second inning.  Coppin St. would go on to tack on three more runs in the third inning and one more in the seventh to take a 5-0 lead over the Lady Lions.

UAPB (0-13) would respond in the top of the seventh when catcher Dominique Humphrey homered deep to center field to put the score at 5-1 with one out. 

Coppin St. (1-1) captured the victory retiring the last two batter with pop-ups to the outfield to end the game. 

Humphrey led UAPB at the plate going 1-of-3 with one home run and one RBI, Shanice Akins also had a hit for the Lady Lions.

UAPB will back in action Saturday, March. 2, against Louisiana, Monroe at 3:45 PM.
