Denton, TX.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team fell in two games in the North Texas Invitational at the Lovelace Stadium Friday afternoon. The Lady Lions fell 10-0 to Creighton in game one and 9-1 in the second game against the Mean Green in Denton, Texas.
In game one of the doubleheader, Creighton made it on the board first in the top of the first. The Bluejays then padded four more runs in the top of the third one in the fourth and four in the fourth inning.
UAPB got their lone hit from Shanice Akins. Kiara Hall took the loss on the mound as she went five innings on 13 hits, 10 runs and two walks.
Game Two
The Lady Lions (0-1) offense had a quiet day, going down in order. Juliana Dominguez started in the circle for UAPB in game two and would suffer the loss, allowing 13 hits, two walks and zero errors.
The Mean Green batted four runs in the first inning and two in both the second and six inning. The lone one run score came in the fifth inning, for North Texas.
UAPB's only run of the second game came in when Tamira Chatman scored off an error by North Texas.
The Lady Lions will be back in action Sat. Feb. 16, against Creighton, first pitch is schedule for 6:30 pm. Â
