The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team heads northwest to matchup against Washington St. Wednesday night at the Beasley Coliseum.
Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on WSU Live. For live stats and coverage, follow uapblionsroar.com.
This is the first meeting between the two teams in the history of both programs. The Lady Lions (0-5) are coming off a tough two-game span last week, losing to powerhouse No. 23 Tennessee 92-51, and Iowa St., 90-40. The Lady Cougars (4-3) are coming off a 78-44 defeat to Indiana in the Paradise Jam Tournament.
"We have to come out and play hard with high energy for 40 minutes to give ourselves a chance to win," said junior Trasity Totten. "Playing against tough non-conference opponents right now will help us in the long run as we head into conference play."
In the matchup against the Lady Cyclones, senior Aiya El Hassan led the Lady Lions with 10 points, and four rebounds, followed by freshman Tyler Pyburn with eight points and three rebounds, and senior Noe'll Taylor with six points and three rebounds.
