Women's Basketball To Face Iowa St. On The Road

11/28/2019 3:27:00 PM

AMES, Iowa - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team will spend the Thanksgiving holiday on the road for a matchup against Iowa St. Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Coliseum.
The game will be broadcast live on Cyclones.TV.  For live stats and coverage, follow uapblionsroar.com

Iowa St. leads the all-time series against UAPB 3-0, with the last matchup with the Lady Cyclones defeating the Lady Lions 70-41 in 2015.

UAPB (0-4), entering Friday's matchup, is coming off an emotional 92-51 defeat to No.23 Tennessee Tuesday night and Iowa (3-1), coming off an 86-58 win over North Dakota St.

"Tuesday night was a tough game for the ladies, with what we're dealing with, said UAPB first-year assistant coach Nicole Mealing. "We got in and did a pool workout last night to help with the recovery from all the traveling.  Coming in to today's practice, they did a really good job with keeping the energy up, making shots, and ran the floor pretty well, and that's what it's going to take to win games.  Iowa St. has some players that put up a lot of good shots, so we have to do a good job of guarding their shooters."

The Lady Lions had three student-athletes score in double-figures against No.23 Tennessee, with junior Trasity Totten scoring a game-high 19 points and five rebounds, followed by junior Jayla Atmore with 12 points and four rebounds, and freshman Tyler Pyburn with 11 points.
