Junior Aiya El Hassan led the Lady Lions in double figures scoring with 11 points

Lady Lions Drop SWAC Opener to Mississippi Valley St., 62-56

Pine Bluff, Ark.-Two Lady Lions scored in double figures led by junior Aiya El Hassan 11 points but the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team fell in its Southwestern Athletic Confernce opener Saturday night from H.O. Clemmons Arena by an 62-56 margin to visiting Mississippi Valley State (2-10, 1-0 SWAC).
 
Junior Kyeonia Harris added 10 points, while senior, preaseason all conference Shawntayla Harris  added 10 points for UAPB (2-5, 0-1 SWAC).  Junior Sha'kendra Tilley added a team-high seven rebounds, two assists and one steals for the Lady Lions.

UAPB Lady Lions will take a break from conference play to host Lemoyne Owens College in a reschedule game, Wednesday at 6pm in the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
