Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions volleyball team produced its first victory of the season with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-8) victory over Central Baptist College at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. Junior outside hitter
Kendalle Howard finished with a game-high 13 kills and 16 digs. The win snapped UAPB's six-game losing streak.
"I was really happy for them to be able to get rewarded for all the hard work they put in," said UAPB head coach
Dustin Sahlmann. "We've been on the road and played some really tough competition, four of our matches were against top 100 RPI (rating percentage index) teams, including the University of Oregon who is ranked in the top 25. We've competed really hard; we've been trying to get four freshman adjusted to the speed of division one college game,."

Britney Sahlmann finished with a game high 29 kills in the game.
"Its been a lot of hard work; they've not been really beating themselves up but the losses have taken a toll a little bit so its good to get a win for our team," said Coach Sahlmann.
UAPB (1-6) returns to action on Friday, September 7 as it travels to Conway, Arkansas, to face the University of South Dakota in the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) Invitational. First set is scheduled for 10 a.m.
