Lady Lions volleyball team drops season opener at Memphis Invitational

UAPB falls 3-0 to Arkansas State

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions fell three sets to zero (25-12, 25-19, 25-14) against Arkansas State University in the season opener in the Memphis Invitational.

Junior outside hitter Kendalle Howard led UAPB with five kills while freshman teammates Haley Gomez and Charm Henderson both finished with three kills apiece. Junior setter Britney Sahlmann finished with a team-high 11 assists.

Arkansas State's Carlisa May and Timber Terrell both finished with 10 kills apiece.

The Lady Lions volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, August 25 as it faces Memphis in game two of the Memphis Invitational. First serve is set for 12:30 p.m.  Click here to follow the match live.
