Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions fell 9-1 in non-conference action to the University of Central Arkansas at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex.
The Bears scored four runs in the third inning and three more in the fifth inning to pull away from UAPB. The Golden Lions lone run came in the final inning when catcher
Ricardo Sanchez produced a RBI double to left field that scored
Davion White, but the comeback attempt was stopped short as
Jacob Columbo hit a pop fly to right field to end the game.
As a team UAPB generated just three hits while giving up eight to the Bears. The Golden Lions struggled defensively, producing a total of five errors while its opponent had none.
UAPB pitcher
Nathan Sawrie (1-2) was credited with the loss. In three innings of work he fanned one batter and allowed six runs, all which were earned. Fellow Golden Lion pitchers

UAPB (11-14, 8-5 SWAC) returns to action on Friday, April 13 as it travels to Louisiana to face Grambling State University in conference play. First pitch of the three game series is set for 6 p.m. at Wilbert Ellis Field at R.W.E. Jones Park.
