Box Score KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions played its second contest in as many days as it dropped a game against the University of Tennessee 9-1 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
UAPB (2-3) gave up only two runs in the first five innings of play and had plenty of chances to score throughout the game but simply could not finish and left several runners stranded on base until its lone run which came in the top of the seventh inning as
Cutter McDonald produced an RBI that scored Sergio Garcia. However, the Volunteers poured in five runs in the prior inning and two more in the eighth to pull away for good.

Ryan Mallison led the Golden Lions with two hits on the day.
Pitcher
Jordan O'Guinn was credited with the loss as he falls to 0-2 on the season. Senior
Nathan Sawrie got in the mix and gave up just two runs out of 18 batters faced. Redshirt senior
Austin Softley also saw some action on the mound against Tennessee.
UAPB returns to action on Friday, March 2 for a 3-game series against Southern University in Southwestern Athletic Conference action. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Torii Hunter Baseball Complex.
