Lady Lions cruise to 68-60 victory over Tougaloo in newly renovated H.O. Clemmons Arena

UAPB's Harris led all scorers with 15 points

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Despite trailing 14-9 at the end of the first quarter, Arkansas Pine Bluff rallied back en route to a 68-60 victory over Tougaloo College in the first game back in newly renovated H.O. Clemonns Arena. Sophomore point guard Kyeonia Harris finished with a game-high 15 points in the win.

-After several months of renovation, this was the first game played at H.O. Clemmons Arena (home gymnasium for UAPB)
-Tougaloo College led 14-9 at the end of the opening quarter
-UAPB outscored Tougaloo 18-11 in the second quarter
-Sophomore point guard Kyeonia Harris scored a game-high 15 points for UAPB
-UAPB's Aiya El Hassan missed one shot all evening (5-for-6) and finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, two steals and one block
-Noe'll Taylor produced 10 points, four rebounds and four steals for UAPB
-As a team UAPB forced 29 Tougaloo turnovers
-The Lady Lions hit just 4-of-22 shots in the first quarter
-As a team UAPB nailed 25-of-77 (33 percent) shots from the field
-UAPB center Shawntayla Harris chipped in with seven points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, one steal and one assist before fouling out of the game
-The Lady Lions outrebounded the Bulldogs 59-41
-The Bulldogs were led by Ahsia Clayton (14 points, five steals, three rebounds)

UAPB (2-3) returns to action on Tuesday, December 18 as it hosts Philander Smith College in non-conference action. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
