MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Golden Lions jumped out to an 8-0 run en route to a huge 94-68 road victory over Alabama State at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome in the final game of its two-game Alabama road trip. The win marks the third straight Southwestern Athletic Conference victory for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Martaveous McKnight finished with a game-high 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field to go along with nine assists, six boards and three steals. The junior guard from Wells, Mississippi, was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line and hit 3-of-5 three-pointers. Freshman
Terrance Banyard was extremely efficient and scored 20 points in 21 minutes on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and was on the receiving end of several alley-oop dunks. The Milwaukee native was one rebound shy of a double-double.

George Ivory, who was pleased with his team's performance on the road. As a team the Golden Lions shot 58 percent from the field, 59 percent from downtown and 65 percent from the free-throw line (15-of-23).

The Golden Lions men's basketball team return to actions on Saturday, January 13 as it hosts Southern University for the first home conference game of the season. The theme is "Greek Night" as all students, fans and alumni are encouraged to wear Greek apparel.
