UAPB EDGES TEXAS SOUTHERN, 4-3 IN 10 INNINGS
Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (April 21) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Baseball team pulled out a 4-3 win over Texas Southern, here Friday afternoon at the Torii Hunter Baseball, Softball and Little League Complex.
 
 
UAPB tallied seven hits in the contest with Corey Henderson finishing with a team high two hits.
 
 
TSU recorded a game high 10 hits with both Kamren Dukes and Gerrek Jimenez with three hits apiece.
 
 
Tyrus Lopez (3-4) picked up the win for UAPB.  He gave up three hits, one earned runs and striking out two in three innings of relief.  Kenny Hinton the UAPB starter pitched five and two-third innings, allowing five hits and striking out two in the 24 batters he faced.
 
 
Michael Villanueva (6-2) received the loss for TSU.  He gave up one hit and one earned run in one and one-third innings of relief.  Seth Oliver the TSU starter pitched eight and one-third innings, allowing six hits, one earned runs and striking out four in the 36 batters he faced.
 
 
UAPB jumped out a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with Juan Soriano scoring on a Tiger fielding error.
 
The Golden Lions increased their lead to 3-0 with Perez scoring on a Julian Jones single to right field in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Perez would touch home plate once more for the Golden Lions with him scoring on a Julian Jones sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning.
 
 
Dukes cut UAPB's lead to 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning with his two-run homer.
 
 
TSU tied the contest at 3-3 in the top of the ninth inning with O.J. Oloruntimilehin scoring on a Dukes' single up the middle to force the contest into extra innings.
 
 
Perez would give the Golden Lions the 4-3 win in the bottom of the 10th inning with him driving in Dontrell Brown on a sacrifice fly to centerfield.
