NACOGDOCHES, Texas (March 22) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Baseball team dropped a 6-5 heartbreaker to Stephen F. Austin, here Wednesday afternoon at Jaycees Field.
 
UAPB finished the contest with seven hits, while SFA finished with six.
 
Jaquese Moore and Jordan Knox both finished with two hits apiece to lead the Golden Lions, while Conner Fikes finished with two hits to lead the Lumberjacks.
 
Austin Hagy (1-3) received the win for SFA.  He pitched two-third of an inning in the one batter he faced.  Aaron Cardona the Lumberjack starter pitched, gave up three hits, three earned runs and struck out two in three and two-third innings of work.
 
Billy Olson (0-2) received the loss for UAPB.  He pitched one-third inning, allowing two hits, two earned runs and striking out two in the 21 batters he faced.  Chris Phelps the Golden Lion starter gave up two hits, two earned runs and struck out two in five and one-third innings of work.
 
UAPB jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning with a three-run homer by Bradley Lopez.
 
SFA tied the contest at 3-3 in their half of the sixth inning with both Tyler Kendrick and Jarrod Huber scoring on a Nick Ramos two-run double to right center.  Ramos would then score on a Fikes single to center field.
 
Both teams scored a run in their half of the eighth inning.  Jerimiah Figueroa with a solo shot to left field for the Golden Lions and Zac Michener scoring on a Fikes single for the Lumberjacks.
 
Moore gave UAPB a 5-4 lead with him scoring on a Knox single to up the middle in the top of the ninth inning.
 
SFA in their half of the ninth inning would plate two runs for the 6-5 final with Gavin Gregory scoring on a Josh Campbell single.  Campbell would then score on a Huber single to left field.
