Box Score HOUSTON, Texas (March 18) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Baseball team dropped a 9-5 decision to Texas Southern, here Saturday afternoon at MacGregor Park.
 
UAPB finished the contest with eight hits, while TSU punched out 16.
 
The Golden Lions had three players to finish with two hits apiece in Julian Jones, Jordan Knox and Dontrell Brown.
 
TSU was paced by Jose Camacho with four hits and Christian Sanchez with three.
 
Michael Villanueva (2-1) received the win for the Tigers.  He gave up one hit and struck out six in four and two-third innings of relief.  Darius Boykins, the TSU starter pitched three innings, allowing four hits, four earned runs and striking out three in the 14 batters he faced.
 
Jake Waters (0-1) received the loss for the Golden Lions.  He gave up five hits, four earned runs and striking out two in four and one-third innings of relief.  Nathan Sawrie the UAPB starter toed the rubber for three and two-third innings, allowing 11 hits, four earn runs and striking out three in the 22 batters he faced.
 
Brown gave UAPB a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning with his solo blast over the left field wall.
 
TSU regained the lead in the bottom of the second inning with a four-run second inning to take a 4-1 lead over UAPB.
 
UAPB tied the contest at 4-4 with the Golden Lions plating three runs in the top of the fourth inning on a Brown three-run homer over the left field  wall.
 
Jones crossed the plate in the top of the fifth inning on a TSU error to give the Golden Lions a 5-4 lead over the Tigers.
 
TSU tied the contest at 5-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning on a Camacho solo blast.  The Tigers would then plate one run in their half of the seventh and three in the eighth for the 9-5 final.
