Box Score RUSTON, La. (Feb. 27) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Baseball team dropped an 11-0 decision to Louisiana Tech, here Friday night at J.C. Love Field.
UAPB (0-1) finished the contest with five hits. Both
Sergio Esparza and
Jaylen Jackson recorded hits apiece in the contest to lead the Golden Lions.
LAT (1-0) tallied five hits in the contest also. The Bulldogs had five players to finish with one hit apiece in the night cap.
Kent Hasler (1-0) received the win for the Bulldogs. He pitched six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out seven. Nate Harris picked up the save in the contest. He gave up two hits and struck out four in three innings of work.
UAPB sent three pitchers to the bound in the contest.
Nathan Sawrie(0-1) the Golden Lion starter received the loss for UAPB. He pitched four and two-third innings, allowing two hits and striking out one in the 25 batters he faced. Both
C.J. Lewington and
Chris Phelps saw relief action on the hill for UAPB. Lewington pitched two and two-third innings, allowing one hit, three earned runs and striking out three, while Phelps toed the rubber for two-third innings, allowing two hits, three earned runs and striking out one in the seven batters he faced.
The Bulldogs plated one run in their half of the third, two in the fifth and eight in the eighth inning for the 11-0 victory.
