Box Score TULSA, Okla. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions basketball team was outscored 23-6 in the final quarter as Tulsa eased by UAPB 87-37 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. It was a tough night for the Lady Lions as it struggled from the floor, shooting less than 25 percent from the field (12-for-50). Forward Faith Ohanta led UAPB with eight points on 2-of-6 shooting from the field and also grabbed four boards in 18 minutes of action while freshman Trasity Totten and post-player Shawntayla Harris finished with six points each.
The Lady Lions survived the first half with limited turnovers and solid defense, but Tulsa jumped out to a 26-10 run in the third quarter and held UAPB (2-5) to just 16 second-half points. The story of the game came down to points off turnovers; UAPB scored just four points off of 11 Tulsa turnovers while Tulsa scored 23 points off of 22 Lady Lion turnovers.
The defeat marks the fifth straight loss for the Lady Lions, who are playing a challenging six straight road games before its tournament in Las Vegas.
UAPB returns to action on Saturday, December 9 as it travels to Iowa City to face the University of Iowa. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
