Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (Jan. 23) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Women's Basketball team defeated Prairie View A&M, 64-47 to win their second straight, here Monday night at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

This is the first time in 12 seasons that UAPB recorded back-to-back wins over Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M. The last time the Lady Lions accomplished such a feat was in the 2005-06 season with Lady Lions defeating Prairie View A&M, 59-52 on Saturday and pulling out a 60-57 overtime win over TSU on Monday Night.

PVAMU took a 20-13 lead into the second quarter of play.

The Lady Lions in the second stanza trailed by as many as 11 points with the Lady Panthers taking 24-13 lead on a Dominique Newman jumper with 7:28 remaining in the half.

UAPB closed the gap with a 14-5 run to cut PVAMU's lead to 29-27 on an
Ajia Richardson jumper with 38 seconds remaining in the first half.  The Lady Lions would go into the break trailing the Lady Panthers, 31-27.

The Lady Lions opened the third quarter with an 8-0 run to take a 35-31 lead with 6:15 remaining in the third quarter. UAPB then pushed their lead to 41-34 on a
Destiny Brewton three point play with 2:34 to go in the third quarter.

UAPB went into the fourth quarter of play with a 45-38 lead over the PVAMU.

In the fourth quarter, UAPB pushed their lead to much as 16 points as they won the contest 64-47.

UAPB (6-12, 3-4 SWAC) had three players to score in double-figures with Brewton finishing with a game high 14 points to lead all scorers. Behind her was
Niya Head with 11 and
Shawntayla Harris with 10. Both Harris and Head finished with eight rebounds each to lead the Lady Lions on the boards.

PVAMU (7-15, 2-5 SWAC) was led by both Alexus Parker and Newman with 13 points each and Jeronia Allen with 12. La'Sha Haynes led the Lady Panthers on the boards with 12.
