BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference honored the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Britney Sahlmann as volleyball Newcomer player of the Week for her performance in competition from Sept. 23-28.

The Lady Lions' freshman setter picked up her first weekly honor of her collegiate career after tallying 47 assists in two matches.  Sahlmann dished out 30 assists against Alabama A&M and posted 17 more against Alabama State.  She also tallied eight digs – four in each match -- and one service ace.
