Box Score NEW ORLEANS (May 19) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Baseball fell into the loser bracket with a 10-0 loss to Texas Southern, here Thursday afternoon at Wesley Barrow Stadium in the second round of the 2016 Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament.
 
UAPB finished the contest with four hits, whereas TSU finished with 11.
 
The Golden Lions had four players to finish with one apiece for UAPB in Jaqueese Moore, Jaylen Jackson, Aderly Perez and Chris Burns.
 
Kamren Dukes led the Tigers from the plate with three hits in four at-bats and scoring two runs.
 
Robert Pearson (4-4) received the win for TSU.  He pitched four scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and striking out six.
 
Anthony Bowmaker (6-2) took the loss for the Golden Lions.  He toed the rubber for four and two-third innings, allowing seven hits, four earned runs and striking out three.  Blake Estep also took to the hill for UAPB.  He gave up four hits, three earned runs and striking out three in one and two-third innings of work.
 
TSU built a 8-0 lead into the seventh innings as the Tigers plated two runs in the first, one in the third, one in the fifth and four in the sixth.   The Tigers plated two more runs in their half of the seventh on a Joel Rosario-Alicea double to left field scoring both Richard Alamo and Gerreck Jimenez for the 10-0 finale, invoking the 10-run mercy rule, after seven innings of play.
 
With the loss, UAPB now falls into the loser bracket and will face Jackson State tomorrow, May 20 in a 9 a.m. elimination game.
