Box Score PINE BLUFF, Ark. (April 1) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Baseball team dropped a 7-1 decision to the Grambling State, here Friday afternoon at the Torii Hunter Baseball, Softball and Little Complex.
UAPB finished the contest with seven hits, while GSU recorded nine.
Both
Jacob Columbo and
Aderly Perez went two-for-four from the plate to lead the Golden Lions.
GSU was led by Larry Barraza, who finished the contest with three hits in four at-bats with two RBIs on the day.
Issac O'Bear (4-2) received the win for GSU with him pitching nine innings, allowing seven hits, one earned run and striking out 10 in the 34 batters he faced.
C.J. Lewington (2-4) received the loss for UAPB, as he pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits, two earned runs and striking out two in the 29 batters he faced.
GSU scored their first run of the contest in their half of the first inning on a Barraza triple scoring Daniel Barnet, giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
Wesley Drain added to the Tigers lead in the top of the third inning as he scored on a Barnet sacrifice fly to right field, giving GSU a 2-0 lead.
A Johan Mojica double to right field scoring Darien Brown pushed GSU's lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth inning.
UAPB cut GSU's lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning on a Perez single scoring

GSU plated three runs in the top of the sixth inning and one run in the ninth inning for the 7-1 finale.
