BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Justin Cooper and Sireta Roach have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference as Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their outstanding performances in competition during Feb. 5-7.

Cooper a senior from Long Beach, Cali. picked up four top-4 finishes during Southern Illinois' Don DeNoon Invitational this past weekend. Cooper was a member of UAPB's 4x400-meter relay team, which won its event, and he also finished second in the men's 200-meter dash. Cooper capped his outing with fourth-place finishes in the men's 60-meter dash and 400-meter dash, setting a personal record in the former (7.08 seconds).

Sireta Roach a senior from Kingston, Jamaica picked up her third athlete of the week nod of the season after two top-4 finishes at the Don DeNoon Invitational The senior claimed third in the shotput with a throw of 49-05.50 feet, and finished fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 55-03.00 feet. Roach has been very consistent this season, as she has finished no lower than fifth place in either event during the 2016 indoor season.
