Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Sept. 11) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff dropped a 3-0 (16-25, 21-25, 14-25) decision to Tennessee Tech, here Friday afternoon at the Elma Roane Field House.
UAPB (0-8) was led by
Kayla Dowdell with nine kills, followed by
Whitney Harris with seven and
Alexis Smith with five.
Katy Hufnagel led the team in assists with 18, while
Courtney Brand with 14 digs.
TTU (1-6) was paced by Cody Dodd with 11 kills, followed by K'Vonna Johnson with five. Sharon Anderson dished out a team high 21 assists, while Kennedy Wade led the team in digs with 10.
UAPB fell to TTU, 25-16 in the first set to give the Golden Eagles, a 1-0 lead.
The Lady Lions in the second set cut Eagles' lead to 11-10 on a TTU attach error. TTU then extended their lead to 17-12 with a 7-3 run, capped off by a
Courtney Brand service ace.
UAPB closed the gap to 19-17 on back-to-back kills by Dowdell and Harris. TTU ended the set with a 6-4 run for a 25-21 win, giving them a 2-0 lead in the set.
In the third set, UAPB fell to TTU 25-14 giving the Golden Eagles the 3-0 win
