Box Score OXFORD, Miss. (March 18) - The University of Mississippi scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to propel them to a 7-6 win over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Baseball team, here Wednesday afternoon at Swayze Field.
Both team finished the contest with 10 hit each.
UAPB (7-9) was led by both West Hinkel and
Andre Davis from the plate as they both finished with two hits each for the Golden Lions.
Ole Miss (11-9) was paced by Tate Blackmon with three hits in five at-bats with three RBIs.
Mitchell Babb received the win for the rebels as he pitched one-third inning in the one batter he faced. Evan Anderson made the start for Ole Miss going six and one-third innings, allowing seven hits, three earned runs and striking out three.
Also making appearances on the mound for Ole Miss was John Ray and Sam Smith with Ray allowing two hits and one earned run, while Smith pitched two and one-third innings in relief, allowing one hit in the eight batters he faced.
Andre Davis (1-1)receive the loss for the Golden Lions, allowing four hits, two earned runs and striking out two in one and one-third innings of relief.
Ciji Ramos made the start for UAPB, allowing three hits, two earned runs and striking out one in one and two-third innings of work.
Humberto Medina came in relief of Ramos, allowing one and two-third innings, allowing one hit in the seven batters he faced.
Billy Olson and
Kevin Walsh made appearance on the mound for UAP. Olson pitched one inning and striking out one in the five batters he faced, while Walsh pitched two and two-third innings, allowing two hits and one earned run in the 10 batters he faced.
Ole Miss jumped out to a 2-0 lead with the Rebels scoring two runs in the bottom of the first.
UAPB tied the contest at 2-2 with the Golden Lions scoring one run in the top of the second and another in the top of the third.
The Golden Lions plated two runs in the top of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead over the Rebels.
Ole Miss cut UAPB's lead to 4-3 with the Revels scoring one run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
UAPB scored two more runs in the top of the seventh to take a 6-3.
The Rebels plated a run in the bottom of the seventh inning and scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning for the 7-6 win.
