In the first six minutes so play, AAMU grabbed an early 15-2 lead on a Janie Myles layup with 13:50 left in the first half.Â

UAPB pulled within five with a 12-4 run to cut the Lady Bulldogs' lead to 19-14 with 9:07 left to play in the first, capped off by a
Destiny Ham three pointer.

AAMU answered with an 18-7 run to take a 37-21 lead on a Jaylan Snowden three pointer with 1:39 remaining before intermission.

Shami Goodman scored UAPB's final eight points of the half as she connected on back-to-back three pointer and went a perfect two-for-two from the charity stripe as the Lady Lions went into the break trailing the Lady Bulldogs 37-29.

UAPB finished the first half shooting 36.0 percent (9-of-25), while AAMU shot 43.3 percent (13-of-30).

The Lady Lions opened the second half with an 11-9 run to cut AAMU's lead to 46-40 on a
Destiny Brewton three point play with 13:32 left in regulation.

AAMU pulled away from UAPB late in the second half as they used a 13-2 run to take a 59-42 lead with 8:56 remaining in the contest.

The Lady Lions finished the contest shooting 34.0 percent (17-of-50) from the field, while the Lady Bulldogs shot 36.8 percent (21-of-57).
UAPB (5-16, 3-7 SWAC) was paced by Goodman with a team high 13 points, followed by
Carlisha Walker with eight points and four rebounds.Â
Mollie Campbell led the Lady Lions on the boards with six rebounds.

AAMU (4-16, 3-6 SWAC) had three Lady Bulldogs to finish in double-digits with Janie Myles scored a game high 25 points to lead all scorers and pulling down 13 rebounds. Brittney Strickland pumped in 20 points, while Alganese Gatson finished with 12.Â

The Lady Lions will return action on Saturday, February 14 as they take on Southern University in a 5 p.m. start at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
