Box Score LAKE CHARLES, La. (Feb. 14) - McNeese State handed the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Baseball Team their second loss of the season as the Cowboys defeated the Golden Lions, 8-4 here Saturday afternoon at Cowboy Stadium.
 
UAPB finished the contest with five hits, while MCN tallied six.
 
Gabe Munoz led the Golden Lions from the plate with two hits, while Connor Crane recorded three hits to lead Cowboys.
 
Bryce Kingsley(1-0) picked up the win for the Cowboys as he pitched six innings, allowing four hits, three earned runs and striking out six in the 25 batters he faced, while Cory Lapeze got the save he pitched three scoreless innings and striking out two in the 11 batters he faced.
 
Charles Bahn (0-1) received the loss for the Golden Lions as he pitched three innings, allowing seven hits, six earned runs and striking out four in the 18 batters he faced.  In relief, UAPB had four more pitcher to toe the rubber for the Golden Lions.  Humberto Medina saw two innings of relief, allowing one hits and one earned in the 10 batters he faced.  Skyler Henson was the next Golden Lions to toe the hill for UAPB as she pitched one inning and striking out one in the five batters he faced.  Also taking the mound for UAPB was Andre Davis and Ciji Ramos as they both pitched one inning each for the Golden Lions.
 
MCN took a 4-0 lead into the top of the fourth inning as the Cowboys plated one run in their half of the first, two runs in the second and one run in the third.
 
UAPB plated two runs in the top of the fourth inning to cut MCN's lead to 4-2.  A Gabriel Munoz double to left field scoring Davis, followed by a Josh Cassidy ground out to second scoring Chris Burns.
 
Cameron Toole and Bryce Packard added to MCN lead in the bottom of the fourth innings with Toole scoring on a Connor Lloyd ground to the shortstop and Packard scoring a on a wild pitch, giving the Cowboys a 6-2 lead.
 
UAPB scored two more runs in the contest on a Jerimiah Figueroa homer in the fifth innings and a Monoz homer in the sixth inning.
 
The Cowboys plated two more runs in the contest as they scored one run in the fifth and a run in the seventh as they hung on for the 8-4 win.
