WELLS-KILBERT 2015 CHUCK PROPHET WAGON MASTER AWARD RECEIPIENT

The Southwestern Athletic Conference Alumni Association has named the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff's Alyse Wells-Kilbert the recipient of the 2015 Chuck Prophet Wagon Master Award.
 
The Charles "Chuck" Prophet Wagon Master Award was created in memory of Chuck Prophet, a founding member of the SWAC Alumni Association, who died in June of 2008.  Chuck was Sports Information Director and Director of Athletics, among other duties at Mississippi Valley State University.  Chuck's greatest legacy is his dedication and loyalty to the SWAC and Mississippi Valley.  This award is presented annually to an employee at a conference member institution who best exemplifies Chuck's spirit and dedication and loyalty to their school and the SWAC.  
 
Wells-Kilbert, a seasoned veteran athletic administrator is currently in her fourth year as associate Athletic Director/ Senior Woman Administrator at UAPB.  
 
This Carthage, Miss., native began her career in athletics at her alma mater Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss.  In her seven-year career at BU, Wells-Kilbert served in several roles within the athletic department, including head softball coach, head volleyball coach and associate athletics director.
 
In 2001, Wells-Kilbert ventured to Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Miss.  There she served as Head Volleyball Coach, Assistant Athletics Director for Academics, Director of the Student-Athlete Academic Center and Senior Woman Administrator.
 
In her 11 seasons at the helm of the Devilettes' volleyball program.   Wells-Kilbert finished with a 173-149 career record, four 20-plus win seasons (2004, 2005, 2006, 2010), three SWAC Eastern Division championships (2005, 2007, 2008), 2006 Most Outstanding Coach and recorded a school record of 28 wins in a season.  In addition, her team won the MVSU Team GPA award back-to-back in 2010 and 2011 and led the NCAA in service aces in 2005.
 
Wells-Kilbert holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Business from Meridian Community College (1989) in Meridian, Miss., and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Belhaven College (1991).
