Box Score ITTA BENA, Miss. (Sept. 25)  - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Volleyball Team picked up their third win of the season with a 3-1 (25-13, 25-22, 18-25, 27-25) win over Mississippi Valley State, here Friday night at the HPER complex.

The Lady Lions won the first set in commanding fashion as they jumped out to a 14-3 lead, capped off by a Courtney Billups service ace.  UAPB then extended their lead to 23-9 with a 9-6 run on a kill by Ashlie Jones.  UAPB won the set 25-13 to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

In the second set, UAPB trailed by much as four points as the MVSU took a 14-10 advantage on a Lady Lion bad set.

UAPB tied the set at 22-22 on a Devilettes attack error, capping a 12-8 run by the Lady Lions.   The Lady Lions took advantage of a kill by Jones and two bad sets by MVSU to win the set 25-22 to take a 2-0 lead into the break.

MVSU in the third set jumped out to a 12-6 lead, capped off by a Lady Lion bad set.  UAPB closed the gap to cut Deviletes' lead to 20-16 on a Jordan Foyer kill. 

The Devillettes closed out the set with a 5-2 run to win the set 25-18 to cut UAPB's lead to 2-1 in the set.

In a nip and tuck fourth set UAPB never trailed as they took a 20-16 lead on a MVSU bad set.  The Devilettes tied the set at 25-25 on kill by Halle Gayten with a 9-5 run. 

Jones came up big for the Lady Lions with kill, followed by a MVSU attack error to give UAPB the 27-25 win in the set and the 3-1 win in the match.
UAPB (3-13) was led by Jones with a match high 19 kills, followed by Kayla Dowdell with nine.  Jordan Foyer dished out a team high 39 assists, whereas Jade Sanlin led the team in digs with 20.

MVSU (1-13) was led by Gayten with 12 kills, while Ilaisha Hale tallied 10.  Alexandria Garland finished the contest with 33 assists, while both Kayondra Hood and Steffi Rodriguez both finished with 12 digs apiece.
