HATTIESBURG, Miss. (Aug.29)  - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Volleyball team dropped their season opener to the University of Southern Mississippi, 3-0 (14-25, 25-6, 25-13) here Friday evening at the Reed Green Coliseum in their first match of the USM Invitational.
 
UAPB (0-1) was paced by Ayanna Parker as she finished with team high five kills.  Jordan Foyer led the Lady Lions in assists, while Lauren Corby recorded a team high five digs.
 
USM (1-0) was led by Stephany Purdue and Jasmine Crowell as they recorded 10 kills each to lead the Golden Eagles.  Kristen Fleming dished a 34 assists, while Alex Pfefferle led the team in digs.
 
Lady Lions will return to action on Saturday, August 30 against Nicholls State in their second match o USM Invitational in a 10 a.m. start.
