MONTGOMERY, Ala. (March 28)  - The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Women's Tennis team picked up their first conference win with a 4-1 win over Grambling State, here Friday afternoon at Lagoon Park.
 
The Lady Lions was led by Elizabeth Perez-Rodriguez as she won the No. 1 singles match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1 over Olawtomism Kassim.
 
Monica Arcos defeated Tafadza Chiridza, 6-1, 6-1 in No. three singles action, while Fabiola Cardoso-Delgado defeated Lisa Karenzi, 6-0, 6-0 in straight set in No. five singles play.
 
UAPB won the double point as the team of Perez-Rodriguez and Arcos defeated Kassim and Tabitha Nanky, 8-1 in No. one double play, whereas the team of Maria Cabane and Cardoso-Delgado defeated Chiridz and Joy Jones in No. two doubles play.
 
The win gives UAPB (5-9, 1-5 SWAC) their fifth win on the season and their first conference won of the season.
