Box Score WICHITA, Kan. (Dec. 5) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Women's Basketball team dropped a 55-26 decision to Wichita State, here Friday afternoon at Charles Koch Arena.
WSU jumped out to a 4-0 lead as they scored the first two basket of the game on a pair of Alex Harden field goals.
UAPB tied the contest at 4-4 on a pair of free throws by
Shami Goodman and
Mollie Campbell layup with 15:21 left in the first.
The Lady Lions took the lead with 11:08 left on a
Carlisha Walker field goal, giving UAPB 10-8.
WSU tied the contest at 12-12 on a Michaela Dapprich free throw with 6:55 left.
The Shockers ended the first half with a 15-4 run to take a 27-16 at the half.
UAPB finished the first half shooting 26.1 percent (6-of-23), while WSU shot 30.8 percent (8-of-26).
The Lady Lions finished the contest shooting 25.6 percent (11-of-43), while the Shockers shot 34.5 percent (20-of-58).
UAPB will return to action on Sunday, December 14 as they will travel to Ames, Iowa to take on Iowa State at the Hilton Coliseum in a 12 p.m. start.
