PINE BLUFF, Ark. (Oct. 10) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff picked up their second Southwestern Athletic Conference win of the season as the Lady Lions defeated Grambling State, 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-23) here Friday night at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

UAPB (4-15, 2-1 SWAC) was led by Ayanna Parkers, who finished the contest with a team high 12 kills, followed by Lauren Corby with nine.  Jordan Foyer led the team in assists with 34, while Courtney Brand led the team in digs with 14.

GSU (2-14, 0-3 SWAC) was led by both Kiara Finley and Maya Lucas as they both finished with eight kills apiece, followed by both Christian Jones and Briliante Osborne with seven kills each for the Lady Tigers.  Diemend Richardson led the team in assists with 15, whereas Kayla Lewis led the team in digs with 11.

In the first set UAPB jumped out to a 14-4 lead, capped off by a GSU attack error.  The Lady Lions extended their lead to 24-9 on a Foyer kill as UAPB won the set 25-12 to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

Three ties would take place in the second set before UAPB pulled away to take a 16-10 lead.
  
GSU closed the gap as they cut UAPB's lead to 21-20 with a 10-5 run. That would be the closes that Lady Tigers would get as Lady Lions won the set 25-21 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

UAPB trailed the entire third set untiled they tied it at 23-23 on a kill by Kayla Dowdell.   The Lady Lions won the set on back-to-back kills by Corby win the match 3-0.

The Lady Lions will return to action on Thursday, October 16 as they will welcome the University of Arkansas at Monticello to H.O. Clemmons Arena in a 6 p.m. start.
