CONWAY -- The UAPB made the short ride over to Conway. Ark. for the opening match of the UCA-Sears Sugar Bear Invitational on Thursday. They faced tournament host Central Arkansas and came up empty, falling to the Sugar Bears 25-11, 25-14. 25-13.

Whitney Harris had six kills and a block to lead UAPB. Rachel Hornbuckle added five kills and Courtney Billups tallied four, while Jordan Foyer had 13 assists and Courtney Brand 11 digs.

The Lady Lions continue their three-day trip on Friday with a pair of matches. They will face Texas-Pan American at noon and Louisiana-Monroe at 4 p.m.
