EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The UAPB volleyball lost their first match of the weekend at the Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Tournament on Friday. The Lady Lions were swept 25-14, 25-11, 25-16 in an error-plagued match.

As a team, UAPB committed 25 errors to 24 kills, finishing the match with a hitting percentage of -.011. A bright spot for UAPB was Ayanna Parker who led the way in scoring with 10 kills. Jordan Foyer had 11 assists and seven digs, while Courtney Brand tallied 11 digs.

The Lady Lions were pretty efficient on the attack in the opening set with 10 kills and eight error in 34 attempts. However, things got out of control in set two and the Lions had only four kills to 10 errors.

The Lady Lions will have a pair of matches on Saturday at the tournament, facing host SIUE and Depaul University.
