MONTGOMERY -- The UAPB volleyball team will return to the home floor on Monday night to face Mississippi Valley State. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Lady Lions are coming off of a 1-3 weekend at the ISTAP Classic at Alabama State University. UAPB lost both of the their matches on Friday, falling to Jacksonville State 25-14, 25-12, 25-6 and Alabama State 25-14, 29-27, 25-19. However, The Lady Lions earned a split on Saturday, beating Savannah State 25-15, 25-14, 25-23, but coming up short to New Orleans 25-22, 26-24, 25-19.

For the tournament, Ayanna Parker had 30 kills to lead UAPB. Ashlie Jones added 22 kills, while Whitney Harris and Audrey Sherles finished with 19 apiece. Jordan Foyer tallied 88 assists for the Lady Lions (3-13), while Courtney Brand led the defense with 44 digs.

After hosting MVSU on Monday, UAPB is back on the road next weekend at the Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Tournament. The Lady Lions play against Georgia State on Friday at 4 p.m.. Then on Saturday, UAPB faces SIUE at 1 p.m. and Depaul at 4:30 p.m.
