ORLANDO -- After dropping their first two matches on opening day, the UAPB volleyball team finished the weekend with a pair of tough losses against North Florida and Central Florida at the UCF Invitational. UNF swept the Lady Lions 25-19, 25-16 and 25-14. then UAPB fell to UCF 25-12, 25-11, 25-16. With the losses, UAPB fell to 0-4 on the young season.

In the match against UNF, UAPB was limited to 16 kills, while committing 20 attack errors. Ashlie Jones and Ayanna Parker each had four kills to lead the Lady Lions. Jordan Foyer had 14 assists and Whitney Harris had five block assists.

Harris and Audrey Sherles each tallied six points in the loss to UCF, while Foyer tallied 14 more assists.

The Lady Lions have a very busy week ahead, beginning on Tuesday on the road against Louisiana Tech. Then, on Wednesday, the Lady Lions head over to Grambling for a conference match. The week concludes with another tournament, this time in Conway, Ark. at the University of Central Arkansas Tournament.UAPB will play at home for the first time this season on Monday, Sept 9 againt Philander Smth.
