ORLANDO -- The UAPB volleyball team lost their first two matches to open the 2013 season, falling to Alabama State and Valparaiso 3-0 in the UCF Invitational on Friday.

In the opening match, Alabama State def. UAPB 25-21, 25-13, 25-20. Ashlie Jones had seven kills, three aces and five digs. Jordan Foyer added 13 assists.

Jones also led the way in the loss to Valpo, finishing the match with six kills. Foyer tallied 15 assists. Valpo won the match 25-15, 25-17, 25-15.

The Lady Lions continue the weekend in the Sunshine State with matches against North Florida and Central Florida on Saturday.
