Box Score Birmingham, Ala. - On Friday, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff traveled to the campus of Samford University for a three game weekend series with the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs took game by a score of 7-1.

Samford got out to 5-0 lead after the first inning and took a 7-0 lead into the eighth inning before the Golden Lions scored on Jacob Whitney single that scored Mike Wieland.

Jaron Gold suffered the loss for UAPB. Wieland was 2-for-3 at the plate for the Golden Lions. UAPB would scatter eight hits over the nine inning contest.

Game two of this three game weekend series is set for a 2 PM first pitch on Saturday.
