Memphis, Tenn. - Wrapping up a mid-week two game series against the Memphis Tigers, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions were shut-out by a score of 5-0 Wednesday evening.

The Golden Lions managed three hits but couldn't turn the productivity into runs at the plate. UAPB left six runners on base throughout nine innings. Designated hitter Tyler Oertle was 2-for-4 on the evening. Golden Lions second baseman Cody De Mera registered UAPB's other hit going 1-for- 3.
 
Golden Lions hurler Staten Jones suffered the loss Wednesday evening, going three and two third innings, striking out two.

The Golden Lions will be back home this weekend to host the Tigers of Grambling State University in SWAC western division baseball action. A double header is on the bill for Saturday with the first game starting at 1 PM, with the wrap- up game on Sunday set for 1 PM.

This weekend, UAPB Baseball will be hosting our 3rd annual "Knock Your Socks Off" event in support of Neighbor to Neighbor. We would like to ask all those in attendance on Saturday and Sunday to donate a new pair (or pairs) of socks as they enter the complex. In addition, a representative from Neighbor to Neighbor will throw out the first pitch on Saturday along with Chloe Ward singing the National Anthem.
