Pine Bluff, Ark- Today in baseball action, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions hosted the #23 ranked University of Central Arkansas Bears at historic Taylor Field.

UCA jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the second, when UAPB starting pitcher Kyle Schwartz walked the bases loaded and hit two UCA batter's that would result in the Bear's first three runs. The Golden Lions' Kirby Campbell would leadoff with a single in the top of the fourth for UAPB's first hit of the ballgame.

UAPB's Isias Alcantar would come around to score on a single by Rafeal Soto, in the bottom of the sixth, for the Golden Lions only run of the evening. UCA would add three more runs in the top half of the seventh inning for today's final.

The Golden Lions managed five hits as did the Bears. UAPB couldn't quite turn the corner as UCA walked away with a 6-1 victory. Alcantar was the only batter to register two hits in today's ballgame.

Up next for the Golden Lions is a weekend conference series in Houston, Texas, against the Tigers of Texas Southern. The Golden Lions will return home on March 30^th as they play host the Panthers of Prairie View A&M.
