Box Score Prairie View, TX- Tonight, in SWAC basketball action, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions battled the Lady Panthers of Prairie View A&M University. The Lady Panthers were able to pull it out down the stretch 62-59.

Both teams started the game off cold, going almost three and half minutes without a score. But UAPB's Jenise Gentry would make a lay-up at 17:27 mark to give the Lady Lions their first lead, 2-0. The Lady Lions would trade baskets with the Lady Panthers for the next six minutes; at which point the Lady Lions would regain the lead, 11-10, and push it to as much as eight before going into the locker room for halftime with a four point lead, 26-22.

In the second half, the Lady Lions would pick up where they left off pushing their four point halftime lead to eight, 32-24, on a Christina Lasasne lay-up with 17:50 remaining in the ballgame. Prairie View would then go a 7-0 run to close within one, before grabbing their first lead of second half,39-37, on a three pointer by Kiara Etienne, with 12:44 left on the clock.

UAPB would regain the lead and push it to seven, 57-50, on a pair of free throws by Gentry; at which point Prairie View would go on an 8-0 run to take the lead, 58-57, with 1:10 left in regulation. The lead would change hands one more time, before PVAM's Jeanette Jackson would knock down two free throws for tonight's final, with six seconds on the clock.

Lakendra Marsh would lead the way for the Lady Lions with 12 points. Chigozianyi Okwumabua added 10, while Gentry and Asia Rhines-Malone put up nine points apiece.

Jackson would lead all scorers with 15 points for the Lady Panthers. Latia Williams would have 12 points and grab nine rebounds.

The Lady Lions will be back at home this weekend as they play host to the Grambling State Lady Tigers at the H.O. Clemmons Arena. Tipoff is set for 5:00 PM.
