Box Score Pine Bluff, AR- Tonight, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions played host to the Lady Braves of Alcorn State University in SWAC basketball action. UAPB battled for the comeback victory 50-47.

The Lady Lions took any early 2-0 lead, 50 seconds in to the ballgame; at which point ASU would take control of the game  and hold a lead that would swell to as much as six points over the next 10 minutes. UAPB would regain the lead at 9:21 mark when Jenise Gentry would make a lay-up to set the score 11-10.

The Lady Lions would hold their lead for the next three minutes until the Lady Braves pushed ahead, 19-16, on a three pointer by Tierra Frost; and would take a seven point lead, 28-21, in the locker room for halftime.

The Lady Braves came out after intermission and continued where they left off, but the Lady Lions would fight their way back to regain the lead, 33-31, on a lay-up by Chigozianyi Okwumbua, with 10:33 left on the clock.

The score would change hands one more time, before the Lady Lions would take the lead for good on two free throws by Lakendra Marsh with 20 seconds left in regulation. Two more free throws, by Christina Lasane and Asia Rhines- Malone, would give the game its final tally.

Marsh was the game's top scorer with 17 points; she also was 13-of-14 from the free throw line. Rhines-Malone would register a double- double turning in 11 points and 11 rebounds with four steals. The Lady Lions would out rebound the Lady Braves 41-31.

ASU's Tierra Frost was the high point player for the Lady Braves with 10 points.

 The Lady Lions hit the road next weekend with stops in Houston for a Saturday match-up against Texas Southern; and a Monday wrap-up in Prairie View against Prairie View A&M.
