Box Score Pine Bluff, AR- Tonight in SWAC basketball action, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions knocked off the top ranked Southern University Lady Jaguars at the H.O. Clemmons Arena to the score of 59-50.

Southern came into tonight's contest toting the conference's best record at 10-1. The Lady Lions gained their first lead of ball game at 17:39 mark, 3-2, and didn't lose the lead for the rest of the night. Christina Lasane would lead the way for the Lady Lions, dropping in a three pointer on an assist from Lakendra Marsh that would get the Lady Lions rolling to their fourth conference victory of the season.

UAPB would push the lead to as many 11, with 8:19 left in the first half and would take an eight point lead into the intermission, 28-20.

The second half was a continuation of the first half as the Lady Lions would push the lead to 15, on an Aubre Mitchell lay-up with 12:28 left in regulation. Southern would chip away at the lead but wouldn't get closer than seven with 49 seconds left on the clock. Lasane would knock down two free throws to push the lead back to nine.

Lasane was the game's high scorer with 18 points on six-of- eight shooting and also connecting on five-of- eight of her free throws. Jenise Gentry would chip in 10 points; while Lakendra Marsh added nine points and Chigozianyi Okwumabua would put up eight points and grab eight rebounds.
Yasmine Fuller scored 15 points and Kendra Coleman added 12 for the Lady Jags.
